Today marks the death anniversary of the noted writer Sumaira Zareen. She was born on February 22, 1944, in Shikarpur. Her birth name was Sakina Awan.

Her literary journey began at a tender age, as her first story was published in the “Naeen Zindagi Magazine” when she was merely 10 years old. She held the position of Incharge of the Literary page in the Daily Hilal-e-Pakistan. Additionally, she served as a Research Fellow at the Institute of Sindhology, Jamshoro.

Among her notable achievements are her authored works, which include “مهراڻ جون ڇوليون,” “گيت اڃايل مورن جا,” and “آئون اهائي مارئي.”

She passed away on August 13, 1977.
